COVID-19 Practice Update

Chermside Family Medical Centre, GP, medical centre

IMPORTANT - DO NOT ATTEND THE PRACTICE UNLESS SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED BY YOUR DOCTOR

-----------------------------------------

We are NOW OPEN AGAIN ON SATURDAY MORNINGS. However, due to current precautions, only a limited amount of consultations will be available through online bookings. Please contact the practice reception on 07 3256 4211 and we will check for available appointments.

--------------------------------------------------

ALL ONLINE BOOKINGS ARE FOR TELEHEALTH CONSULTATIONS, UNLESS YOU HAVE ALSO CONTACTED RECEPTION TO  DISCUSS A FACE TO FACE APPOINTMENT

To help support our community during this difficult time, Chermside Family Medical Centre is currently

Bulk Billing all telehealth consultations for patients with a current Medicare Card.

If you need a script or other paperwork, our doctors will work with you to find the most appropriate method of facilitating this for you.

PLEASE BE AWARE - SCRIPTS FOR OPIOIDS OR OTHER RESTRICTED DRUGS

ARE NOT AVAILABLE BY TELEHEALTH CONSULTATION

For the safety of our other patients, staff and yourself, we ask that you DO NOT present to the practice unless specifically requested by your doctor or by the reception staff.

We appreciate that some consultations are not able to be facilitated by the telehealth process.

If you feel that you need to be seen in person, please call reception to arrange this, and DO NOT use the online booking process (for example, vaccinations, skin checks, newborn or health assessments, drivers medicals, etc).

-----------------------------------------

If you are a new patient and wish to use the online booking option, please also complete the New Patient Registration forms available here.

-----------------------------------------

TO ALL OF OUR PATIENTS - Please appreciate that this is an evolving situation. We are endeavoring to provide the safest possible care throughout this period. While every effort will be made to ensure the timely and accurate nature of information on our website and bookings page, due to the rapidly progressing nature of the situation, this may not always be possible. If in any doubt, please call our reception for clarification.

Your understanding throughout this difficult time is greatly appreciated.

-----------------------------------------

Due to the ongoing and evolving situation with the current coronavirus pandemic, to try and ensure the safety of both our patients and staff, we have had to make some changes to our booking arrangements. Therefore, from Monday the 30/3/20, all consultations by default will be conducted by either telephone or video call.

We ask that you DO NOT present to the practice unless specifically requested by your doctor or by the reception staff.

We have also had to reduce our opening hours to allow for increased cleaning of the premises. Until further notice, the practice will now close at 5pm from Monday to Friday, and will be closed on Saturday.

While some consultations will still require face to face assessment (for example, vaccinations, skin checks, newborn or health assessments, drivers medicals, etc), we are asking all our patients to please call reception to arrange this, and DO NOT use the online booking process.

These changes will enable us to ensure that we are complying with the current social distancing legal requirement, and aid us in minimising transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

While we will make every effort to call you at the arranged time, due to the current health crisis, there may be some delays due to emergency cases and phone network disruptions.

Remember, there are dedicated fever clinics running at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, and The Prince Charles Hospital.
