Covid 19

COVID-19 Practice Update

Chermside Family Medical Centre, GP, medical centre

Please do not attend the practice if you have any cold or flu symptoms or are concerned regarding coronavirus / have been in contact with anyone with suspected COVID 19

For safety reasons and to allow for the increased amount of cleaning, THE PRACTICE WILL NOW CLOSE AT 5PM Monday to Friday.

IMPORTANT: As of 2nd October all online bookings made will be face to face consultations.

As the threat level of COVID-19 is currently low in Queensland, we’re now offering face-to-face appointments. We continue to monitor the situation in other States closely.

We also observe social distancing >1.5m and limit the number of patients in our waiting room.

If you have symptoms of fever, flu, a cold, or a loss of sense of smell or taste, then a COVID-19 test is necessary. Please telephone reception staff to book a telephone consult with a GP first, and an appropriate safe review can be arranged.

Please be aware that a private or gap fee may be incurred for telephone consults from 2nd October 2020.

Medicare GP telehealth items are restricted to circumstances where a patient has an existing relationship with a general practice (i.e. the patient has visited a GP in the practice face-to-face in the last 12 months), other than for children aged under 12 months or patients who are homeless.

Please be assured that our clinic is COVID-19 safe, and we remain prepared to transition back to telephone triage of all consults should COVID-19 threat levels increase.

To aid with new patients attending the practice, and to help minimise the spread of the Covid-19 virus, you can now complete the registration and medical history forms online.

We are NOW OPEN AGAIN ON SATURDAY MORNINGS. However, due to current precautions, only a limited amount of consultations will be available through online bookings. Please contact the practice reception on 07 3256 4211 and we will check for available appointments.

Remember, there are dedicated fever clinics running at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, and The Prince Charles Hospital.
